Since a kid ridding on a lil pony (assisted of course)at Cameron Highlands, I've always loved the sounds of horse galloping, that elegant resonance of deep clucking and tapping sound of the hoof on the ground. click, clock,click, clock, click, click. sadly i hardly hear them here.

surprise! you've got mail!

Despite the technological age and how we brace ourselves with conversations online and emails, it is always a pleasant surprise to receive snail mails from friends. That extra effort to pick the card or letter, hand write them and buy a postage before popping it in the post office is something that is surely deeply appreciated, and of course, never fails to put a smile on my face. (& of course on my friend's who told me about this being one of her happy things too)

Chinese New Year is definitely one of the most happy things that I look forward each year, even more so since I left home in secondary school. Despite the difficulties, despite the squabbles, I still get excited, well, perhaps it's the whole atmosphere of it, perhaps it's the food, and perhaps it's the thought of just being home.
Note: The ads below may cause you to shed a tear or 2, but I thought they are some of the few best ads I've seen around (all shown on M'sia TV, 2005-2007)

To add on to Miao's #8, here's a poster my friend pasted on my window at my studio desk last year. It never fails to put a smile of my face and to remind me that someone went the extra mile. And that poster is now stuck on the wall by my bed to remind me to cheer up.

Little thougtfulness makes one happy. :)

Cold showers after a run...
Warm showers after getting caught in the rain...
Keeping clean is also keeping happy! :)
(I don't have a tub or this might have to be changed to.. long soaks in bubble bath)
